The shells allow you to improve speed, endurance, weight, but also the loop (i.e. the reactivity) and control. Changing the core allows you to exclusively optimize the loop, endurance, as well as speed. For example, mixing an Endurance shell and a Speed core guarantees you an average weight and a correct control capacity. With a Weight shell and an Endurance core you will have little control.
